About
Women of color are at a higher risk factors compared to other groups. These risk factors include obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and smoking. African-American women also tend to develop heart disease at an earlier age compared to other women.
Heart Sistas, as a 501(c) grassroots organization, has played a vital role in bringing awareness to the community about heart disease in women of color. We conduct educational programs, workshops, and events that aim to educate women about the risk factors, symptoms, and prevention strategies for heart disease. By raising awareness and providing resources, Heart Sistas helps empower women of color to take control of their heart health and make informed decisions about their overall well-being.
